Hello A&C participants, Thanks for coming to yesterday's A&C Check-in. Below are a few reminders and follow-ups: 1. The next Planning Committee call is October 6 2. The next A&C/ROVER Progress call is October 7 (attendance is 'mandatory', there are some important updates we'd like to share with you all) 3. We're recirculating the Planning Committee sign-up sheet<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vNgycn0kkHo0e47vj03Q35LLGvrAPxiyF6VT4Yx5nR4/edit?usp=drive_web&ouid=111597157720993213323>. * ACTION ITEM: Please sign up for 2 dates. This will give us a backup presenter for each date or allow for a second presentation when the agenda permits. Remember this is low pressure presentation to help you make strides in your project. 4. Reese is also gathering brief stories about how the Translator UI has directly impacted your research for NCATS leadership. * Examples could include * Discovering drugs or genes you hadn't previously considered, pursuing a new research direction or hypothesis based on query results, or ways the UI made your workflow more intuitive or efficient. Even a sentence or two is helpful. * NCATS leadership is particularly interested to learn: * Have you discovered interesting drugs or genes through Translator query results that you wouldn't have considered before? * Have any query results led you to pursue a new research direction or hypothesis? * Have you had any moments while using the UI where it felt intuitive or made your workflow smoother? * Here's a completely made-up example story, but you're welcome to share in whatever format is easiest for you: * I ran a smart query for "What drugs may impact conditions related to Wilson Disease?<https://ui.ci.transltr.io/results?bD1XaWxzb24gRGlzZWFzZSZpPU1PTkRPOjAwMTAyMDAmdD0w&q=7429305c-c655-450f-9ee1-d1fd6e6aedf2>" and was surprised to find NFE2L2 multiple times among the results. I hadn't considered a relationship between NFE2L2 and Wilson Disease before, but several drug results upregulated NFE2L2. I'll be taking a closer look at the relationship between NFE2L2 and phenotypes of Wilson Disease in Pathfinder queries next. * ACTION ITEM: Please send Translator stories or anecdotes to Reese via Slack or email at reeserosedesign@gmail.com<mailto:reeserosedesign@gmail.com> as soon as possible. You can also contact Reese with questions about the request or how the feedback will be shared. Best, Kelyne Noel (KK) MPH On Behalf of Translator ROVER WG
